Yes, categorically, yes they do.
.
What is often different is the circumstances that evoke those feelings or sentiments. Different cultures, different laws, different histories but essentially people are the same. Everyone feels greed, love, desire, sympathy and dislike, and fear. What is also different is our reactions. These reactions are guided and at times governed by our cultural expectations and/or on a more personal level, our families expectations. Children always seek the approval and love of their parents/carers. Parents are only human and make mistakes and don't always set the best example for their children. Children are also increasingly guided in their behaviour by the modern popular media. Which is quite a scary thought!!!
.
However with all this, the basic human emotions and needs are still there. With all our surface differences we often CHOOSE not to acknowlege this. After all it is much EASIER to blame someone else for this worlds ills than to try to understand. Understanding requires putting your own societal beliefs aside for a moment and stepping into anothers shoes. Only then can a true send of understanding/empathy have a chance to arise. This also requires patience. Which in our fast paced world is a virtue increasingly not encouraged or evidenced.
.
I am glad you asked this question. But I am at the same time sad that you did and what this says about human beings at the moment. How far have we come only to not realise that we are still in essence all the same?????

Somewhat, but these thoughts and feelings can be conditioned by experiences and society. People do need the same things though, though in some societies more importance is put on one need than the other.

I think that people more or less experience things depending on their personalities, environment, traditions, culture and religion....so people who have those things similar are likely to experience the same things, otherwise no!

I think we have the basic instincts (food, shelter, sex), as we are created with these mechanisms on. But, depending on our circumstances, our feelings and thoughts may not be the same. People living in harsh poverty for instance, would not have the same thoughts and feelings on things that he himself has not experienced. Likewise, for those born privileged.
