Is it for yourself--you feel better without hair? Or is it the pressure of society to do it? Actually the whole hair shaving business, why do we think it's more natural to shave than not?

I LOVE a natural woman...

I only do it when I want to wear something sleeveless. This is a cultural thing. Women in most countries do not shave their underarms or their legs. Our society has decreed that women look better without this hair. I'm not really sure why. I know that shaving the legs started because of a shortage of nylon during WWII. Women wanted to look like they were wearing nylons so they had to make the hair disappear by shaving it off instead of covering it up. I'm not sure when the practice of shaving the underarms started or why. I think it was probably something a man made up in order to torture us. Or maybe they were just getting even because of having to shave their beards.

I shave because I personally think it looks horrible on a woman, it looks like they do not bother about their appearance and it looks dirty. It can hold sweat in the under arm area and be a good place for bacteria to breed and then you stink. It looks bad, feels bad and smells bad. I think it should be law that all women have to wax or shave or epilate their hair from legs, underarms, bikini line etc.

It's more hygienic, @ least you feel cleaner and more confident without those little hair around you, I personally can't wear a strapless top with unshaven under arms and I can;t pull down my pants for my b/f with unshaven pubic hair too, it's rather disgusting.

I shave because I get strange looks if I don't. But often I don't bother in winter when no one will see it anyway

Because bacteria get caught in the hairs and contribute to body odor. Losing the hair helps contribute to fighting body odor.

some people probably do it bc its considered normal, but it feels better being shaved that is why I do it. It is also cleaner I think.

I guess its for both. We want to look nice with our clothes. For eg. imagine how you will looking like if you went swimming with a bush under your arms, and it will take long for it to dried so the you can put on you clothes after that.
