when i turn on my system w/c is a pentium 4 pc windows xp it displays "NTLDR is missing press any key to continue then pressing a key it says Disk Boot Failure,Insert System Disk & press Enter what is wrong & how can i fix it?

you have to format and reinstall win xp
NTLDR is a important system file normally stored on C:\
computer can not boot without this file

This means that the main file that is required to boot for Windows (NT, XP, 2000) got deleted and you can not boot.
Possible reasons can be installation of some other operating system, use of some partitioning tool, or virus attack.
You can restore this using the rescue disks you might have created while installing the operating system.

Misconfiguration with the boot.ini file.

New hard disk drive being added.
Corrupt boot sector / master boot record.
Seriously corrupted version of Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Loose or Faulty IDE/EIDE hard disk drive cable.
