First, properly "Revelations" should be capitalized. It is the name of a book in the Christian Bible.
And, my answer to your question is both "No" and "We don't know".
Here's why I answer that way.
1. Christ said that no man can know or predict when He would return and the assumption that these are the "End TImes" sets a time constraint on that. Thus, we can never predict the beginning of the End Time and that voids your question because to answer "Yes" to it is to fairly accurately forecast the return of Christ.
2. To say that this is the beginning of the End Times is to assume that that today's Israel is the Israel of prophecy, The Orthodox Jews (Neturei Karta International Jews United--the most rigidly Jewish Jew of all the major division of today's Jewry) deny very strongly that the present Israel is the one of prophecy. (See Source for website) In fact, as shown in the letter at the suggested website, they pray for the destruction of today's Israel because they sincerely believe it to be a false Israel. (And this is really getting into difficult terrain to post, and I just hope my answer isn't judged to be afoul of the Yahoo TOS.)
3. When we talk about the End Times we are using an exclusively Christian term which refers to the events that lead up to the return of Christ and Judgement Day. (Jews, Muslims, Hindi and others will have a lot of problems with this Christian usurpation of a commonly-shared history and its conclusion.) The difficulty here is that we have been in the End Times ever since Christ returned to Heaven and that date is approximately A.D. 33, or so. So, when Christians start talking about the "beginning of the End Times", they, today, are already 1,970-odd years into the process. And that doesn't hold together very well, logically-speaking--does it?
4. My fourth point is rather trite and I apologize for raising it, but this belief of End Times beginning in a current era has come to life about four times in a big way in the Western World (the Christian World, I guess would be a better term)--once in medieval days about A.D. 1000, I think, when there was a massive reaction to the mere number of the year. Sooner or later, we'll get it right and the End Times will, indeed, be upon us--but who can say how many more times we will have to cast the dice before getting it right? --I don't know and no one else does either. And I had to write that sentence thinking exclusively as a Christian--which I am, by the way.
I suppose I could tally up a few more points about why we can't possibly know when the End Times are beginning. And to say definitely that these are the End Times is very simply assuming knowledge of something which, as Christians, we must say that an End Time cannot possibly be affirmatively identified as such without pretending to know as much about what is going on today as God does--and he has perfect knowledge, does He not? --So, my answer remains both "No" and "We don't know".
These four points (or three, you want to disallow me the fourth) ought to be a sufficient answer to your question.
They are for me!

I think people have asked the same question through every major wars, but we've been managing to resolve things and keep the balance. The religious wars, wars over land and resources, threat of a war as an ultimatum are all nothing new, and now we have weapons that have the power of nuc. without the radiation fallout and extremely accurate. With the super power like US understanding its responsibility of that power and the international communities demanding scruples of humanity, I'd like to think that despite the psychotic idiots out there, we have enough sanity among the human race to ensure our survival. (I do believe, however, that people like you asking these questions help a lot in reminding people to think about their actions and consequences. So, keep up the good work.)

Revelations will not yet happen as we know it. It is God who only knows when it will come. Today's violence and bickerings are just minor incidents. It is not yet the beginning of the end. Thus, be always prepared for any eventuality.

No. It's the end of the beginning. There are plenty of new chapters in store. They involve happenings way beyond your range of imagination.

It's the end of it all. There is no other revelation than man hates his fellow man.
Sad but true.

It appears so?
I'd be checking off the "End Times Prophecy" checklist as we go if I were you!
(Getting close to needing someone to come in with all the answers for peace (like maybe the Anti-Christ?), wouldn't you say?)
