I have a bottle, and I thought you could use it on scars, but is it healthy for my skin if I put it on it? I haven't tried it, but I was just wondering what it actually does.

I guess the best I can say is that there is no strong evidence to
support the 'old wives' claims' that vitamin E helps heal scars. Maybe
what IS happening is that, since vitamin E is lipid/fat soluble, it is
really the fatty solvent that is making the skin seem more supple and
smooth...and the scar appears to be less distinct.
Remember, however, that vitamin E IS a nutrient (fat-soluble vitamin)
taken internally. What we are discussing above is vitamin E applied
topically (on the skin). Vitamin E functions as an anti-oxidant in the body
and keeps certain very reactive compound from destroying cellular
structure, such as the membranes around the red blood cells and other
tissues that can be 'oxidized' by 'free-radicals.' Vitamin E functions by
stopping the chain reactions that these free-radicals can cause at the
cellular level. For the vitamin to act as an anti-oxidant, however, it
must be taken internally, as far as I know.
Thanks for asking such an interesting question...and for giving me an
excuse to do some digging on the web.

To help reduce the appearance of scars, simply purchase some Vitamin-E capsules. Squeeze the liquid Vitamin-E from capsule and rub into the scarred area. Do this once or twice a day. How long the treatment is needed varies with the size and the age of scars. Small or fresh scars begin to fade in 2 weeks, if not sooner. Larger or older scars can take 2 to 4 weeks."

Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin with no known toxicity. Other fat soluble vitamins, such as Vitamins A and D, are potentially toxic if a person took way too much of them. Vitamin E is remarkably safe; doctors have given quantities as high as 3200 International Units (I.U.) per day harmlessly. This is over 100 times the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance (R.D.A.).

Vitamin E is a fat Soluble oil (tocopherol) yes its good for your skin as the fatty solvent returns the skin elasticity, makes it supple and smooth and scar does appear to be less seen or distinct.
However research has proven that Vitamin does not reduce scars

Yes it is healthy for your skin. I've used it on pimples (works great), and during pregnancy to help prevent stretch marks (helped a little, not much, no magic creams or oils work)

At the least - it does help heal very dry skin

It has anti oxident action that helps protect the skin and if you have pure vit E oil you could ad it to your generic lotion as a vehicle for absorption and moisturization.....I put it on the back of my hands and face and neck to prevent wrinkles.
