I've been there several times. Best thing about malaysia: nice and cheap food! Variety of foods u may fine in Malaysia, i.e. Indian, Malay, Indonesian, western, Arab, Chinese, etc. Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is clean and organized. You can actually bargain for the taxi as well. Hotel is cheap. Maybe you can go to Genting Highland, Sunway lagoon, Redang Island, Tioman Island, Petronas Twin Tower etc. Shopping in flea market is also quite interesting: find Petaling Street! Almost everyone can speak Malay, so if you happen to be Malay speaker, no worries. They speak English and Chinese too.

Hi, I'm from Malaysia. I live in Petaling Jaya, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Malaysia is known as the melting pot of the east. We have a multiracial race which consist of Malays, Chinese, Indians, Eurasians, and several hundred other ethnic groups (Punjabi, Orang Asli, Dusun, Kadazan, Iban, etc. to name afew) here. This is shown in our way of life, celebration of festivals (here, we celebrate easter, christmas along side with festivals like Wesak Day (Buddism), Hari Raya Adilfitri (Islam), and Deepavali (Hindus)), and of course, our food. The food here range from local dishes (asian food) to international fares like French, German and even Swedish food. And since Malaysia is a peninsular, we are surrounded by the ocean and hundreds of little islands. The most famous one being, Penang Island, which is also known as the Pearl of the Orient. Penang is an island city that time has forgotten. The island is filled with artifacts from the colonial times and quaint little trishaws. The buildings in GeorgeTown, Penang are over a hundred years old, some even older. In contrast, Kuala Lumpur is a modern metropolitan with a population of 5 million people. We have what was previously the tallest building in the world (The Twin Towers) and hundreds of shopping malls doted around the Klang Valley (of which Kuala Lumpur is part of). Kuala Lumpur has one of the world's cheapest hotel accomodations. A five star hotel would cost as little as US$100 a night. A nice little budget hostel from less than US$10 a night. Shopping in Kuala Lumpur is a joy to behold. From Hermes to Hugo Boss to local designer brands, there is a shop to suit every taste and budget. Peninsular Malaysia has also a National Park in Termeloh which is about 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. Here, you can spend a day, or even stay a night or two, in the dense tropical forest. You can spend your day trying to spot a pygmy elephant or an Asian tiger. Or even go bird watching as we have many of rare species of birds that can only be found here in Malaysia. There are so many things to do in Malaysia that it will take me hours to type them all out. The best way to find out more about malaysia is to read up on travel books about Malaysia.

Wow. Great question. I know a guy who lives there, wonderful!
Beautiful country, long history, good weather, good people, good food, mix of cultures; Asian, Arab, etc, and booming economy and job market.
I'm 16 now, living in the U.S., and I'm planning on going to the International Islamic University in Malaysia when I'm 17 and out of high school, so hopefully the nation is great.
Just imagine Hawaii with much more culture and depth!

ME! Alot of times! I've been to Pahang, Perak, Melaka, Port Dickson, KL, Johor, Putrajaya and lots more! I love Malaysia HOWEVER some of the men that look at my family as though they are gonna devour us alive! And ladies do not queue up in the washroom! But put that aside, Malaysia is great!

I went there when I was 10 years old, but I remember it being beautiful. It's very modernized and has its pick of great food, friendly people, and beautiful jungles and beaches. It's fun to go shopping there (and it's very affordable) and it's got its share of sights. I would want to see the Petronus Towers and Penang if I ever went back again.
