how do i recover my files from my Fujitsu N3520 laptop. the hard disk is not detected during boot however in BOIS it is seen. can i fix the HD and recover files remotely using for example, a USB and desktop? or is there a better solution? OS used is XP pro

I would suggest getting some kind of software i.e. Acronis true image to recover lost data. After that, back the image up into an external HDD. Do a low-format on the crashed HDD & restore the image the HDD. Its quite expensive though, but you can keep the software for future use. you open the lid and take a screw driver and stab it as hard as you can then u grab some electromagnets and hold them as close as possible to the hard drive <<<<<<<<<<<<< im soo kidding dont do that lol if your wanting to get files off of it just get a converter for a regular hard drive and make it a slave and boot it up onto a PC
