a man, a woman, and 3 children go on a rafting trip from a shore threw a river to another shore, and they bring only what they have which is 5 man canoe and a 2 man raft, when they arrive to the second shore why is there only 2 people? (take in consideration that all had to be at the second shore at the exact time).

The others went overland with the canoe because you can't go rafting in a canoe. The three children and the canoe was lost during the trip. This riddle doesn't make sense.

the riddel is vague. there could be 2 people (indiginous people) already at the shoreline.
there are only 2 in the raft, it doesn't say which 2 people.
Children are not considered people.
There is a varried way of answering this riddle as it is written.
