Ultrasounds aren't 100%, but neither is measuring your belly from the outside this late in the game. Do yourself a favor, grab a calendar.... count 40 weeks (some other countries will say 41 weeks) from the start of your last period..... this is probably the best due date you can put in your mind. The baby will come when the baby is ready, and this is the date you should be ready for. Otherwise, listen to what your body is telling you as you get closer to your due date!!

You can never really be sure sometimes. I used to believe that an ultrasound before 20 weeks was 100% accurate in determining fetal age. Then this pregnancy I had an ultrasound at 14 weeks that said I was 15 weeks along. This is actually impossible, since I could not have conceived before having sex! We had not has sex for two weeks before and two weeks after the one time that we did. At all. So getting pregnant a week before having sex is impossible. At five weeks I'm sure it's more accurate, but I can't place my faith in that any longer.

The ultra-sound isn't what determines how far along you are. It's the measurments of the baby. It could have been that your baby was bigger, then started growing at a slower pace. Giving you a later due date. You should ask your doctor if you're really concerned.

YES!!! Ultrasounds are often wrong on due dates!! Its not a guaranteed thing its a rough estimate!! my sisters firs u/s put her due on nov. 13, second nov 23rd and the last put her due on nov 8th!! It helps if you know the exact day you got preg............ I knew the day I got preg with my son, Nov 17th and the doc had me due august 4th....we argued and he finally gave me a due date of august 14th, i told him that was still a few days too earl and whaddayaknow? My baby came Aug 19th!! same with my daughter, I got preg June 27th and the first due date they gave me was march 14th, I knew it was wrong so the final due date was march 29th, which was closer to what I had expected and she was born april 1st!!

yup.. ultrasounds arent 100 percent reliable for establishing a due date.. they just take measurements of certian areas and say "well, a baby this far along would have a measurment of this".. your baby could be smaller then normal, or larger then normal..

due dates are really only a good guess. my doctor told me that you can give or take a week or two; at least. if your insurance will cover it, suggest having another ultrasound.

that's called an envisioned due date for a reason, its an estimate. there is no precise thanks to ascertain even as a toddler will be born. i replaced into 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced at 37 weeks and had to be led to at 40-one weeks, do not worry about it. toddler will come even as he/she is waiting.
