This is for a family law matter. (child support) I haven't even filed the case to to modified yet, but the court that we originally went to file in the past we need to file for change of venue there correct?

The short answer is that you have to file a timely motion with the court, citing the appropriate legal authority and providing the appropriate factual support. San Diego doesn't have a simple form for that and most San Diego courts require you to call and reserve a hearing date for that type of motion.

You haven't posted any information that would help me to know if you are eligible for a change of venue. It's not an easy motion to make.

here are a couple of good legal sites: findlaw and also lawcrawler. to request a change of venue in your county and any in california u need to file a motion for change of venue and with this motion u spell out the legal basis which support your request (the judge is aware of these; u just have to show him/her u are aware of them as well) don't get ur hopes up, change of venue is kindof a big deal to the judiciary. good luck.

You need to be more specific. It depends on what the case is, on what court the case is being pursued in, the grounds on which you want the venue changed...

Be more specific.
