Try cutting back on fatty foods, fast foods, etc. and eat more fruit. A fruit cup and a soda usually help me get through those boring classes better then the same soda with a slice of pizza... or two. Also, get physically active, and it's easier when you have a fun activity. If your school has it, I highly reccomend fencing. Take a beginner class and by then end of it, you'll have the best legs of your life. ;-)

You need diet and exercise.
First, you need to eat well balanced meals. Start with a good breakfast with whole grains, dairy, and fruit. Breakfast should be a substantial meal as it gets your metabolism going.
Follow it up with a lunch that is packed with veggies and protein. Salad, sandwiches, soups are good. Avoid burger and fries. But once in a while, that stuff is ok, as long as it's not every single day. Lunch should also be a larger meal than dinner. Since you will need more energy in the afternoon, you should have a bigger meal.
Have a small snack in the afternoon - try fruits, or granola bars, or even veggies. Avoid chips, chocolate bars, and sweets. The sugar contains nothing but empty calories.
For dinner, eat about 25% less than your lunch. Again, you need proteins, veggies, carbs, and fruits. A good rule is 50% of your plate should be veggies, whether it's a salad, roasted or steamed veggies, etc. 30% meat, and then 20% carbs - rice or bread or a potato or pasta. You can avoid dessert and have a late night snack of yogurt, fruits, or something healthy.
Drink water consistently throughout the day. Water helps the metabolism. Avoid fruit juices from concentrate and sodas as they are empty calories. If you want juice, you have to drink the real stuff.
Then you need to exercise. At least 3 days of cardio for a minimum of 30 mins. Then 45 to an hour of strength training 4 times a week.

Stay away from junk food. This means staying away from the vending machines packed with cold soft drinks, chips, candy, etc. And if you're still in high (or middle) school avoid buying pizza, nachos, and hamburgers for lunch. Bring your own lunch from home and eat fruits and granola bars as a snack. Also, you can always take in a sport.
