They says 7 days from the mucasy plug but I personally went from nothing to labor ( actually baby) In a little over 12 hours so It is any where from tonight to next week

I'm afraid it could be any time in the next four weeks. You can be one or two centimeters dialated for weeks and you can have warm/up contractions that come and go for weeks too.

It's obviously your first baby and you are obvioulsy very impatient, very uncomfortable and very excited to meet your baby. Still, it is important that you deal with this practice labour at home and try to wait it out. The earlier in labour that you go to hospital, the more likely it is that you'll end up needed a c-section or other kinds of intervention. Basically, just try to remain as active as possible as you go through your daily routine.

The ideal time to go to the hospital is when you are four cm dilated. You can't tell when that is, but a good indictation is that the labour pains start to really hurt. They aren't just uncomfortable. The pain is your cervix starting to really open. For a first time mother, the cervix usually dilates at about one cm per hour and you need to go to 10 cm to push the baby out.

You can help your body get ready for labour by eating light meals often, getting rest, but not lying down any more than you need to and visualizing your cervix opening. The cervix is like a tube that twists itself closed and as your dilate, it untwists. You can imagine it slowly unwinding creating space for your baby to come out.

Other than that, the first thing you need to learn as a parent is patience. You might as well start learning while you wait for labour to really begin.

I started getting irregular contractions and got the discharge from 36 weeks, my son arrived at 41 weeks on the dot. So the answer is - it could be any time up to a month from now! Relax, take it easy, and enjoy being able to sleep lots!

I think you will be having your baby anytime now. I had my daughter about 20 hours after I lost my mucus plug. Good Luck, and if you are looking to hurry labor along, take some walks (make sure someone goes with you) and have sex if you can find a comfortable position, I heard both these things work.

Do you know if you lost your mucous plug? If you are close to going into labor you may see pink, brown, or red blood around the edges of the mucous plug. Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly.
If you are not sure that you lost your mucous plug, you could be losing it gradually. With this, you may notice an increase in vaginal secretions before labor.
Make sure that in case you DID lose your mucous plug, do not take any baths! Also, keep track of your contractions from now on (by timing the increments)! -- Your sweetheart could be on his/her way! GOOD LUCK!!!
Also, e-mail me if anything else happens, it's always nice to talk to someone else who is 38 weeks pregnant! TSP5145@sru.edu

Between 10 minutes and a month and a half from now. That's the most accurate estimate anyone can give you. Sorry!!

Within a few days. The same thing happened to me, and I was in the hospital within two days.
