What sexist comments!. The appeal for the millions who watch(watched) the show was the fact that woman who make as much money as men will live their lives as men do, answering to no one but them selves, living their lives as they choose to, not depending on Daddy or Hubby or society to "allow" them choices, just like men have lived all their lives. and btw, their are no 'grandma" looking woman on the show and when it was originally aired it was on HBO so it was no different then the discs

Sex and the City is a really funny, witty show. I've heard men and what they talk about when they're alone together (how many women they've slept with, what it was like, what they want to do, etc) and four very successful, independent women were doing the same, in a HILARIOUS way, it's great. But of course there's the emotions and sensitive side of it, because they're women. EVERY episode ties into the one question Carrie asks in her article, in the beginning of every episode, it's amazing, it's really clever. A lot of what they say is shocking, but it's funny. I think a lot of people get too focused on "these women are whores, all they do is have sex" and they miss out on the sensitivity and creativity of it.

I have all 6 seasons and it only took 1 episode for me to get hooked. I bought the first season and I had to buy the 2nd one and so on. I don't watch what comes on tv cuz it's edited for tv. Honestly, I have watched my discs so many times that I don't even watch them anymore.
When you watch it, and start from the first episode (cuz it can take a few before you get into it) you start to relate to at least one of the characters. That's what I liked about it.
Like I said, I don't watch my discs anymore too often, but I still think it's a good show. I even got a guy hooked once. Don't watch the tv version. I'm sure that sucks.

Carrie has two great loves: sex and the city of new york. The attraction is the battle to see which love will win out each week. It allows you to get a great view of new york and the characters are fully developed by story's end. Does that help?

Because it's about glamourized whores? I mean, I don't really like it either. To me it just shows how much America is truly going down the gutter.
