Well that rules out almost every muslim country, maybe all of them. I don't think it has much to do with religion.

Please note that the permanent membership is granted not based on the religious representation. When the U.N. was formed after the world war, any dicision of the council needs to be taken only with the consenses of these permanent membership. This power of these permanent membership is called VETO enjoyed by these members.

Now, that in the lateral part of the formation of the U.N., the U.S.A. became a dominant member amongst the permanent members. Hence, any dicision that will affect the US interest will not be taken by the U.N. Since U.S. knows it very well, it knows that other permanent members will not VETO their vote for a decision by U.N. to occupy Iraq, Taliban, and any country on which U.S. has an eye on its oil resources. Hence, US acted did the job with a big brotherly attitude, on the other way, might is right. India which had the support of some of the permanent members to grant her a permanent membership, has also lost its opportunity by allieing with US in various international happenings. In fact, the U.N. itself appears to be renamed as U.S. instead U.N.

If a country wanted to be represented with a Veto power, it must influence the majority of the members of the UN to support it, be nominated and voted for as a member of the Security Council. Thus, a Muslim country can do it considering that they have oil which is an effective bargaining commodity.

Let me help. During World War II Germany was the last country defeated in the Axis. Four countries were the major partners in defeating Germany: England, France, Russia, and the United States of America.

You may remember Berlin. It was divided into four parts. England ended up giving their part to the U.S., France gave theirs to Russia. Eventually, the wall came down.

These four nations were instrumental in defeating Germany and starting the U.N. They were given such status because they earned it.

During WWII most muslim countries either sided with Germany, or simply remained neutral. This was worthy of nothing.

Your comment is an example of ignorance, and your attempt to suppress the West will not succeed. Islam deserves disrespect for their support of terrorists, or at best, their "neutrality". Sounds like WWII all over again.
