What is the best way to spread the word about my myspace music page?

My music needs attention! How can I get recognition? Keep in mind, I'm broke, and don't want to buy banner space. Think free.

Go search for people in your area and request to be their friend...that's what some of the local people here do. When you have a good amount of friends, start posting bulletins about your gigs...
Also, search for some Myspace groups to join, and post bulletins there.

First you have to search something completely random and send friend requests to everyone that comes up. Do this several times because chances are only half the people will add you. It helps if you follow up these requests with a message to the person saying that they should really come and check out your music because they sound like a cool person that would enjoy your music. Then you go to this site http://www.htmate2.com/whoreme/ and get your whore me code. Post this several times in bulletins with the heading re-post this along with a message about how cool your band is and that everyone should at least check you out. It also helps to add other bands, then you can send requests to all their friends saying that if they like so and so's band they'll love your music too.

or start joining Myspace groups about music/under music category, join those groups specially w/ thousands of members then post a bulletin plus a new topic there! ;-)

I would add a lot of friends on your myspace. Then just start posting bulletins. Then your friends will tell their friends and so on and so on.

Add other musicians.
Get a nice layout, better songs.
