I believe myself to have this condition but have never been formally diagnosed. I hate the idea of being medicated, and yet I have always had a very strong inclination towards the effects of marijuana... I dont know for sure why. It seems to help me, and I guess Im looking for some outside reference point to guage this perception, possibly with intention to persue a formal research.

Marijuana actually does have physically addictive qualities and please don't let anyone tell you any different. There is no such thing as a safe drug to use without regard for addictive properties. If you are not fond of the feeling of being medicated, you will eventually tire of the effect that Marijuana has too. Eventually you don't get high, you just get tired.
Marijuana is illegal in the United States even for medical use. I know that there are states that say it is ok, but where the state law fails in prosecution, the federal law picks up. It is a jailable crime in the entire United States, with or without a prescription.
I am not the one to say no pot dude. I have a predispositon to the stuff myself, I love mary, to a fault: but I also have had to deal with actual literal physical addiction. That is painful and very hard to break. I started using because I had terminal cancer that I managed to live through. Weed helped with the pain, the anxiety, the not wanting to eat, the vomiting, nausea... It did what it was supposed to do.
The problem with using weed for treatment, is that street weed contains a varying amount of the active chemical THC. Street weed in the area I live in contains between 2% and 14% THC. There is no way to get a consitent theraputic dosage. It is also often laced with Meth Amphetamine or Crack Cocaine. This is the economics of drug abuse, that the more quickly the "lick" gets addicted, the more money from repeat buys. It is expensive to add the toxic and deadly intensifiers, but the cost gets passed along to the buyer, and the addiction is created more quickly with the additions of the nasty extras that will actually make the asbergers (or whatever you are trying to treat) worse.
There is no feasible way to create the necessary conditions for a research program involving street pot and any type of illness. If you truly want to approach this as a formal research project, you will need to convince your doctor that you want the steady dose of marinol to test your theory. It is a theraputic processed thc patch or pill. You may actually get what you want if you are willing to submit to the legal THC patch. The high is different, not as spastic, more steady. This may be more of what you are truly looking for, and it will get you less likely to be labeled as a drug seeker.

Since Asperger's Disorder is similar to Autism, some afflicted individuals will also exhibit signs of obsessive and/or compulsive behavior. The reason for this is probably due to Asperger's symptoms causing the individual to appear as "different" to other people, thereby causing high levels of anxiety in the individual.
Antidepressant medications such as Paxil, Zoloft, and Prozac have been used to treat Obsessive/ Compulsive disorder because of the calming effect the drugs have on the individual. For some people, marijuana also has a calming effect, and unlike some other drugs (even some prescription drugs), has no physically addictive qualities. For more info on Asperger's Disorder, check out http://www.mentalhealth.com/drug/p30-p02.html. Basically, I believe that whatever helps you the most, and has the least negative mental and physical side-effects, should be your treatment of choice.
Good luck!

Funny you ask this. I'm in the same situation. In my opinion it all depends on the strain of mj that you're working with. In addition, timing of the harvest plays a big role (due to trich development on the bud). It is an interesting topic for sure.

Don't try Marinol. It's just another way for corporations to control every aspect of our lives. Grow your own weed and find something that you like.

You just like being "stoned". Don't need formal research to figure that one out.
