Mistakes are how people learn, especially their own! You don't usually learn from your father's as you didn't live it. That is why preaching to kids doesn't work very well!
That is why history is so important to learn. It has a lot to teach us so we aren't bound to repeat them.
But now we have Vietnam and Iraq!! Both started over a lie!

Yes, but then in politics you can always put a spin on it for example
you run over a friends dog
"the dog had rabbies and you were doing a voluntary community service"
you rob a liquour store
"you asked to see the tenders green card, he pulled a gun on you it was all self defense"
etc etc

Dam right it can. Just wait until you have kids, or just wait until you get old. What you do when you are young is what the rest of your life depends on. You need to give it your best shot. Like tell your family members that you are proud of them and you love them.

that would depend on the brevity of your past. good or bad, it reflects to people who knows who you are. remember this: 9 good deeds are wash away with 1 bad one; and vice-versa... though bad deeds or mistakes are difficult to correct, if intended for the betterment, somehow... it may improve... so yes, i'd say it may affect your future...
