in the olden days,can the son in the family be made the servant at the same time?

Assuming I understand the old stories aright, if you lose your birthright (i.e., get disowned) you are no better than a 'manservant' - that is, effectively a slave. Father decides whether you stay as a servant, go to another family, or get sold.
