why does it look all mangled?

Maybe an old sports injury or general accident? perhaps it is just natural. I have a friend who has a nose that looks very similar, and his is a natural thing. One day you may find an answer :)

Looks like it was broken and not set afterwards. Not an uncommon thing. Of course, that doesn't mean it did happen but that is what it looks like.

i think he broke it in a war, a fight or something and he decided not to get it fixed, sort of a battle wound.
