Well, I am phobic of roaches but I try to be objective. Some of them have long graceful antennae and wings. I had a Madagascar hissing cockroach once (trying to decondition myself from my phobia). I got used to him (I insisted on a male because I didn't want to take a chance getting eggs). I could handle him and wasn't repulsed. He got used to me also and didn't puff up or hiss when I picked him up. But when I saw a wild cockroach (a black "water bug") I reverted somewhat, catching it with a jar and throwing it out into the street. I was still phobic or else I would have caught it in my hands (I've done this with a bee) or just smashed it. Really I can't seem to be very objective about cockroaches.

not at all, but some are actually interesting. the hissing roach. for their size, they reach speeds of 200 mph. they can be nuked, frozen and still live. many people hate them as they do carry many diseases. there are a few species in the world that are six inches long.

If they take time to groom themselves, yes they can be pretty.
