Is that worse than people who walk up to total strangers and just talk about things the other person has no interest in?

I think they are:

Well raised.
Smart.
Courteous.
Nice to be around.
a Wonderful companion.
Good to sit next to in the movies.
A good listener.

Knows it's just a waste of time, energy and breath trying to convince this idiot that's IS talking that he sounds like an Moron and wouldn't understand the basic concept anyway..

They may be planning something.....?
They may be committing everything to memory so it can be released in a Block buster book, New York times best seller titled:

"Aw Dim Loud Mouf fools I Killed jus wudit shut up"

I like quiet reflective people.

(That reflective thing doesn't mean folks with sparkly tape on their clothes.) Thoughtful People.

That person would be nice to have around...I hate people who are always talking about themselves!

You can learn a lot more with your mouth shut and your ears open.

You need to watch a quiet man, you don't know what he is thinking.

Depends. Sometimes (in this day and age) we have to speak first if we want to get ahead.

Maybe you just haven't said anything interesting enough to inspire a comment from they yet. Or maybe they are shy, or just observing.

1. He/she knows it is wasting energy
2. He is wondering why you were not talking to him?
3. He was giving you a simple tit-for-tat

Controlled, troubled, on a leash, not much of a social life.

Some people are less verbal than others.
