diesel engines use less fuel, and last longer. a diesel engine becomes "broken in" around 100k miles..most petrol engines begin failing at that mileage

No, for normal city driving only fuel effecient (performance wise)cars are better. Petrol vehicles are less polluteable and life of a petrol car is better than a diesel car.

No. Diesel car, though economical, has less engine life as compared to Petrol car. Moreover, the noise level gradually increases with the passage of time in Diesel Engine.

ya diesel car is far more efficient then petrol car the life of diesel engine is longer then petrol one n the modern diesel engines r nearly equal in all aspects to petrol ones so in country like India where fuel cost matters a lot one should prefer diesel car in ma opinion

no its not, as prices are hiking and the diffrence between petrol and disel is decreasing,maily disel is prefered bcoz of disel price,
diesle engines needs to b heated in winter so its hard to start in winters,
it sound more than petrol car.
maintance of diesel is more.
