Are American Womens attitudes responsible for higher number of Pedophiles?

A buddy of mine brought up the sorry attitude American woman have now days about men. (IE How much are you worth before I marry you / what can you do for me.)
That started me thinking of why so many men are now molesting children. Could there be a link?

You have asked this question in about the least tactful way possible! :-) So no wonder you have sparked off a bit of a storm. I am quite sure it doesn’t boil down directly to women’s attitudes – but maybe on more general terms you might have a point. There is no denying that there is something deeply rotten in humanity’s sexuality – and pedophilia doesn’t come from nowhere. Like everything else it is a symptom and like every other aspect of sexuality, it is an effect of the state of sexuality today. If people would stop ranting and raving about it and thinking of it as some kind of evil rising up from nowhere - then they might realize that we are all to blame for it, really. All of society.

How you made the connection between the two completely separate issues is unfathomable. It's not because they got turned down for a date that they molest children. These sick freaks are making the CHOICE to do what they do. If the two were linked... How does that explain priests molesting choir boys? Maybe you should stop victimizing the monsters and instead place blame where it belongs. In the hands of the pedophiles.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. There is NO EXCUSE for anyone to hurt a child. I am sure if you took a head count there are just as many sorry men as women, does that women can start molesting kids and using these excuse also?

Pedophiles are not sexually attracted to adult women. From the start, they are only sexually attracted to children, which, in my opinion, comes from a desire to hurt something small and helpless. Evil, Yes! Curable? No! They should be kept somewhere away from any and all access to children. I feel that your buddy must be looking for a gorgeous knock-out to be with all the time. An average-looking woman is a much better, much more grounded and realistic than drop-dead gorgeous can ever be.
