My friends and I are leaving Sherman Oaks at 4:30pm tomorrow, Friday= LOTS of traffic!. We are debating whether to take the 210E then 15N, or the 14N and 18E to Victorville, THEN the 15N. We want to get there ASAP. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Taking the route through Palmdale (14N) is usually faster, but the problem is the two lane highway between Palmdale and Victorville. That is typically backed up on any afternoon and especially on Friday afternoons.

The best way to beat the traffic is to leave earlier. Take whatever route you wish, but get past Victorville by 5:00 PM. If you can do that, you will miss most of the traffic heading to Las Vegas on a weekend.

Good LUCK in Vegas!

At 4:30 on a Friday, you'll probably hit a lot of traffic on either route. If you take the 14 N, you'll run into traffic on that freeway AND on the 405 N (on the way to the 14).
If you take the 134 E to the 210 E to the 15 N, you will at least have carpool lanes, which MIGHT help a little. I think the mileage is a little less this way.
Good luck!

I'd just go south to the 10E, then you don't have to worry about changing freeways till you get to Bishop.
