Yes. See sources section below for details...Average is between 13 lb. and 15 lb. 6 oz. for girls and between 14 lb. 5 oz. and 16 lb. 12 oz. for boys. This is according to the newest growth charts available. They are the most accurate ever because they are based on children who are known to have been well-nourished. Older charts were based on populations of children without knowledge of their nutritional status at a time when overfeeding was considered healthy.

RE:
Does anyone know the average weight of a 4 month old baby?

From birth to 1 month old, the average newborn gains 2/3 to 1 ounce a day and grows 1 to 1 1/2 inches in length.

In the next three months, babies usually gain 1 1/2 to 2 pounds and grow 1 to 1 1/2 inches each month. During this time, a baby may begin looking chubby; however as his activity level increases, those "baby rolls" will soon be replaced by developing muscle.

By 6 months of age, most babies will have doubled their birth weight.

By 12 months of age, most babies will have tripled their birth weight and will have grown 9 to 11 inches compared with their birth length.

By 24 months of age, most babies will have quadrupled their birth weight and will have grown 14 to 16 inches compared with their birth length.

Don't eat second helpings, leave off the sweets, and cut back on your carbohydrates. That is, leave off your potatoes and cut way back on bread. Get plenty of exercise. Try not to snack unless it is fruits and vegetables. Leave off your unhealthy snack especially at night before bedtime.
