its for a job im applying for. what is it? and what should I expect? while Im at it...what are some tricks, tips, hints to get a good score? thanks.

If it's the kind I'm familiar with, you will be put in a threadmill to see how well you are conditioned. There are no tips to fool it because it will depend on how well you are in shape. Let us know what you did and how it went.

Would help to know if it's a heart stress test or psychological stress test. Is this a physically demanding job where they'd worry about heart disease (mountain hiking guide)? In that case you should drink a lot of water and breathe deeply with controlled breaths, not panting, to keep your heart rate down.

If it's a psychological test, they may have abusive people goad you, or maybe it's a paper and pencil test. If it's abusive people I'd urge you to leave the place on principle. Why would you want to work at a place that treats applicants that way? If you want to stick it through, they want to see you stand your ground without getting abusive back. You do that by detaching, realizing that it's just theater and you have a role to play. Acting experience would help here.

i am used to a Stress test being a running/walking EKG - a medical test.


i wouldn't be surprised if there are psych tests called stress tests.

Advice? If it is a game or psych test, don't throw up your hands in frustration. identify goals, problems, work through them as best you can. Don't start yelling, don't stomp off. no offense intended.
