Synthetic oil may be man-made, but the primary "ingredients" still originate from oil.
To illustrate with another example, the price of plastics (made of hydrocarbon polymers) also increases with the price of oil.

because allthough its synthetic its still oil. and its already so high because it cost alot more to manufacture because it is pureified alot more than plain oil.
