Zidane said Materrazi insulted his mother and sister.
Materazzi's dad says that Zidane first insulted Materazzi's mom (who died when he was 15 and is a very touchy subject), so he retaliated.
Who knows what actually happened - but the lesson here is that it doesn't matter who started it, it matters who gets caught! And really, who didn't learn that from fighting with siblings when you were little?

Whatever actually siad, in my view he would have asked Zidane to use his head than strength and Zidane wanted to prove that both his head and physique are strong!!!!!!

The word on the street is that it was something disparaging about his momma or sister. Either way I think he'll never do that again.. That looked like it hurt.

apparantly it was something nasty about his mother and his sister. at least that's what he said in a interview. (probably something about doing his mother and or sister)
