Bad spelling aside, I don't think significantly more are "going gay"... I think, as others have pointed out, it's less of a stigma. This results in more people "coming out" instead of forcing themselves to be alone or fit into a mold that they'll never be comfortable with. So in that sense, maybe a few more people are gay because they're not "living a lie".
A handfull may be experimenting because it's no longer as big a stigma and announcing that you're gay get's attention. When homosexuality becomes more mainstream (i.e. is no longer a way of standing out but just a state that some people happen to be in) these people will fall back into some other fad.

It's less that there are more "going gay" and more that there's less pressure for them to try to hide their preferences. Knowing that there's an excellent chance of being lynched by an angry mob, lose your job/family/freedom, and generally have your life made a living hell does not encourage anyone to come out of the closet, and until very recently, that was the reality that gays were faced with.

I ask this question often. I think that the media has literally brainwashed people in too thinking they are gay. Most of the time gays are pictured by the media (especially American one) as "good" people, and this distorts peoples' perceptions, and makes the forget the fact that being gay is a perverted act

I think because the society is more accepting than before. So those that are gays are coming out of the closet. It could also because of some people curious and gay wanna be.

I don't think more people are "going gay" I think that society now allows just a little bit more tolerance than in the past. Therefore, more people are comfortable with "coming out" .

more and more people arent "going gay". they are just more comfortable coming out these days as society is far more lenient towards homosexuality than it was even 10 years ago. but on the same token, ask yourself why society is more open toward lesbians than it is gay men.

Something more. Something much more. Read the book of Daniel 11:37 in the Bible. "He shall have no desire of a woman." The question is who is "he"? When you discover that, that is when you will really start thinking and then you will see.

It's a fad and will pass. The true gay people will remain true as the confused will find themselves eventually.

No, there is no increase. More people are just coming out because our society is becoming more acceptive of homosexuality.
