It is the sexual repression and CRAVING OF base, pornographic material that brings rise to harm. That is what makes way for rape. We cannot have the desires we choose for fear of moral consequences. These desires get repressed, and the desire to watch porn equals the desire to commit heinous sexual abuses.

Pornography is an incomplete outlet for sexual frustrations. When these repressions are unlocked it unleashes on society. Not always, but that is definitely the impetus for a violent sex offender.

Do rap lyrics incite violence? No, people already feel violent. Rap is the representation of that violence, and listening to it can be a positive outlet for violent frustrations. Violent rap, and violent behavior both stem from the violence people already feel inside. Does porn incite sexual violence? No, people already feel sexually violent due to our repressed society. Pornography is a symbol of that.

Porn only shows us what a repressed society we live in. It is not the cause of sexual offenses. Repression is the cause of sexual offenses, as well the reason for porn. The issue is deeper than porn itself. Taking away porn will not eliminate the bottled feelings of sexual desire. Being open, understanding, and nonjudgemental of morality will eliminate the bottled feelings of sexual repression.

I use this analogy to understand porn's negative or neutral effects: think of the last horror movie you saw. What was the scariest moment in it? Now, if I put you in a vulnerable position (like, say, a dark room in an empty house) and you thought about that scary movie moment, would you be scared? How scared? Would you lash out at something that snuck up on you?

Well most viewers of porn don't just watch it once and move on to another movie genre. They immerse themselves in it. It seems pretty obvious that porn will have an impact on how they treat people in sexual situations and on their sexual expectations and desires. If someone is really into violent porn, guess what they'll be fantasizing about when they're having sex... Would you really wish that on any woman?

Okay, so not all porn is violent. But the stories, scenarios and images imbed themselves in one's mind. They tweak one's fantasies - the director's fantasies become one's own.

No, porn is not as harmful as some make it out to be. It's just like most other things - perfectly harmless when used responsibly (that is to say, not using it to the point of addiction, or some such thing).

I think it does have some negative effects. First of all if young persons are watchin it, they are most likely to get the wrong ideas about sex. Furthermore, to some it can become addictive and it may eventually result in future "sex-problems". Anyway, i think there should be so form of control on these issues (limiting the number of website, for example, there is way too much)

People who are attracted to porn are individuals who seek a degree of freedom. We're quick to imply porn is immoral. But in all truth, even sexually free people DO have sets of decent moral standards--and they way outnumber the ones who flat out have NO morals ( the latter by the way fill up our prisons or are well on their way there).

Take for example, the hard working office secetary, has lots of friends, is well regarded in her neighborhood as kind, decent and honest. She may be bisexual and she may like porn: it's just that NO one knows it.

The world famous sports hero, seen on TV and in cameo movie roles, plays with amazing skill in his sport and has won record breaking victories for his team. He's also decent, quiet living, well respected, a avid church goer. He's also gay or bi and may like porn; that does NOT make him a sexual deviant.

The local friendly postman, who knows and speaks to everyone on his route, regarded by them all as a really wonderful considerate and decent man, happily married with kids who are ones parents dream of having. Well, the postman likes porn--and so does his wife. Again: porn didn't turn them into ugly people.

Not all porn fans are gay or bisexual. Not all porn fans human monsters meriting life till they die in prison.

PORN DOESN'T MAKE YOU WHO YOU ARE: YOU DO THAT JOB YOURSELF. LEAVE PORN OUT OF THAT.
