To Caligurl,

I would never subject myself to fighting in Iraq because the war is wrong to begin with. Although you are probably right about getting a hobby.

I'll give you that point.

I went through a lot of that in my younger days. I would walk around the house saying "I'm bored". I would want someone to think of something to entertain me and even then I was picky about what I wanted.

I think it is natural and a good way to learn that there is no one in the world who can make you happy - you must be determined to be happy on your own (or be happy sitting around bored).

I tell you, I'd give anything for a week of boredom now. A whole week where I didn't know what to do with myself! I'd read and nap outside. I'd shop (even just window shop) and check out the local parks - I hear one has horseback riding and anothe bocce. I would avail myself of some of the local spots that are unlike anywhere else in the world.

Peace!

You may spending too much time doing the same old things. Maybe you need to diversify. Open yourself up to new experiences and you might find something that will be more engaging.

If you're still in a rut, it's possible you suffer from depression. You might want to talk to a therapist to see if your thinking patterns are keeping you from enjoying things.
