If you can't go home for lunch - it's too far.

When I lived in the UK, I spent far too long commuting to work. Now I live in Canada, I spend most of my worklife in my office one mile from my house. However, sometimes I have to leave town to work in another location, and I have to take a boat or plane. Now that's definitely too far a commute.

I though 35 min to and from was far, but 2 hours to and from takes the cake. I don't believe I would be working there any longer.

Unless you have the luxury of getting to work whenever you can get there, there is no defined limit that's too far. Usually, if you feel that the distance you've driven isn't worth your time, effort, or salary, then you've driven too far.

50 miles or 45 minutes , if your not getting paid for "travel time" or mileage. This is the typical rule of labor practices.
