A couple reasons, our mothers always did that stuff for us so we never learned. Also, when we do it, our wives point out how we did it wrong, so why bother. As for myself, I do my own laundry, my wife does hers. I can stuff a washing machine full of whites, darks, jeans and 'delicates'; wash them all at the same time, toss them in a dryer together and they come out just fine. A load or two and I'm done. I don't seperate, I don't change cycles, drying temps or times. My wife likes to clean each dish as she finishes it, I like to clean each dish when there's no room left in the sink. My wife dusts, picks up everything on the floor then vacuums. I see nothing wrong with a protective coating of dust and vacuum around anything on the floor (can't see what's under it anyway). Face it, women are nest builders that believe men should be also. We aren't and won't be. We will do what we can to keep the peace, but don't expect too much more. Men can actually watch a television show knowing there is a ring around the bathtub, dishes in the sink and a funky smell coming from that pile of clothes on the floor of the bedroom. It's just the way we are.

"LAZY", don't respect or love themselves or others enough to clean their own filth from around themselves. I clean, cook, take care of the yard and automobiles as well as do laundry and other things around the house as well as work 50 - 60 hours a week at a real job. When these men get tosse out on their a_ _ then they might start wanting to clean up and help others.

Same reason women don't. Cleaning sucks, let's face it.

But some guys just have a higher tolerance for messiness, single, married, whatever.

I think it's important to remember that whenever you generalize, there are going to be plenty of exceptions to the rule. Plenty of guys help out. Find the ones that work for you... or make enough money to hire a maid service. :)

Same reason women don't like mowing the lawn and fixing the plumbing.

It's just natural that some jobs are for men, some for women. Women that live alone hire people to mow their yards, fix their cars, and repair the plumbing.

There are exceptions to both sides, this is just a generalization.

I probably do 99% of the cooking and cleaning in my house. And guess what? My wife doesn't appreciate it. At all. She grew up in a house where everything was done for her. I grew up in a house where my mom made me care for myself when she wasn't around. Women at work tell me all the time how their husbands do nothing around the house, yet I do almost everything at ours and get no reward at all. Any woman out there want to take me in? ;-)

Cause their moms have done it their whole lives and they don't know how. Most girls grow up helping around the house so we know what we are doing and it's like instinct to do the dirty work while men are completely content to live in filth and wait for someone else to do it...somethings gotta change here ;)

My boyfriend didn't think it was important to clean until I wiped the mini blinds, door frames, vaccumed (I showed him the dirt in the bag) moped (he saw the dirty water) and realized when I cleaned his shower it was white not grey. Now he helps out with the cleaning. Show him the results of his pigginess and laziness. And maybe (keep your fingers crossed) he will help out.

Now if only I can get mine to leave to toliet seat down.
