This is a question to the people of Israel and other citizens of the world who have an opinion on it. What are the feelings of the people towards this government decision? Since an attack on Lebabnon could be construed by other Islamic countries as an attack on them all, is this attack justified?

Yes, of course it is. Israel would never stand by while even one of its people is held hostage. Maybe it's time to fight their evil neighbors now before they buy themselves the atomic bomb.

The attack on Lebanon is justified. The rocket attacks and kidnapping of Israeli soldiers was a declaration of war.
The Haaretz newspaper poll shows that of 3219 people polled over 60% support military action. This is the polls questions and percentage of answers:

Yes.
The Hezbollah is a lunatic cult with an approx. $400 million (!) annual operating budget, thanks to the support they receive from Iran and Syria.
Lebanon is conducting a rocket war against northern Israel, which has killed several and wounded hundreds. And they are holding two Israeli soldiers hostage.
Lebanon has another 16,000 (!) missiles pointed at Israeli towns right now,
and they also finance attacks on Jews out of Gaza and Judea/Samaria.
They must be destroyed, same as the Hamas cult based in Gaza.

Well, if you think the thousands of Palestinians held hostage by Israel, it seems ridiculous that Israel would invade Lebanon for one of theirs. Israel justifies it by considering them terrorists, but Israel cannot continue this hipocracy in which they consider those who kill innocent civilians to be terrorists, but only brand the Palestinians with this title. If anything, Israel is the worst terrorist because they kill 10 times as many innocent civilians as the Palestinians.
