Is it ezcema? My son has had really dry skin since he was a baby. I use eucerin the really thick cream in the white jar, aquaphor by eucerin works really well and is by far the best for dry skin i find and has a blue top white container, or non hydrogenated crisco. You can also bathe with a few teaspoons of olive oil and aveeno oatmeal. I don't uses any lotion on him because lotions do not work at all. Many of them have alcohol in them and contributes to the problem for him. Palmers coco butter in the white jar works very well also. Dove soap is good also.

My skin doctor told me to get Oil of Olay replenishing lotion. Try the oil of olay products and see which one is best for you.
Estee Lauder has good creams for that also, more expensive though.

Wheatgerm oil or sorbolene cream rubbed on dry skin areas twice daily - religiously for a couple weeks...then a lighter moisturiser...

well you don't exactly get rid of dry skin. you gotta treat it. right after you take a shower, while your skin is moist, apply lotion.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate -
And I use that new, expensive Olay of Olay in purple bottle morning and night!
I had alligator or ashy skin - not anymore!

You might want to add some oil to your diet. Extra Virgin Olive Oil would be good. High in anti oxidants, and although fatty, it's good fat.

i too struggled to find good lotions. try aveeno moisturizer, also caswell & masseys' dr hunter's hand creme.
i think most of those bath & body, victoria secret, jergens, etc. suck.
