My baby girl has done the same. She will settle down when I cradle her on my arm, belly down, with her head resting on my palm. I put a pillow under my arm so that I can elevate her head a little bit and not tire out while rubbing her back. It's the best way to make her feel more relaxed, which seems to help more than anything else, and puts her to sleep. I've also changed my bottles to the VentAir brand, which has really helped reduce the amount of air she swallows during feeding. And on the really bad days, a little anti gas medicine for infants does the tricks. I've gone from 2 hours of sleep last week, to 4-6 hours of sleep this week.

do you eat dairy and are breast feeding? or is the formula dairy based? your baby could be have a milk allergy or some other allergy. it could be broccoli or brussle sprouts or any other strong food your eating and getting through to the breast milk. try illiminating dairy form your diet for a week and see what happens, or switch to a soy based formula and see what happens. ovol is really good for settling there tummy, gripe water i found useless unless you get the kind with alcohol in it and you drink it..lol! my son had colic from 2 weeks old till 5 months...my advice, nap when your baby naps and know that in a few months it will be resolved if the advise i gave you doesn't work. good luck and breath deep...remember that your patience can wear really thin when you are tired, if you need to put your baby in the crib when you can't take it any more it's ok...it's a safe place when you loose it. all mothers from time to time need to do it, make yourself a tea and breath deep. your not alone. good luck and you'll make it!!!

Colic is very hard to deal with. I would say ask for the support of family and friends to take her for a couple hours. If you know that besides her colic she is fine, fed, clean, etc... buy a pair of ear plugs and hold her laying against your chest/stomache rub her back, and rest together. You won't be as bothered by the noise of her crying, but you will be soothing her, and relaxing yourself at the same time. There are also special formulas for colic babies usually soy based.

My youngest gave me a run for my sanity as well. My mother (my lifesaver) suggested administering the gas drops as frequently as possible. Additionally, we warmed a towel (not excessively) and wrapped around her tummy and gently rolled and rocked her endlessly. It took time every time, but it worked and she'd sleep like a snug bug in a rug for at least 4 hours at a time. There's also a product I discovered at Wal-Mart called Tummy Soother. That seemed to help a lot, too. Good luck and best wishes. I hope she feels better soon!

Also if she is breastfed alot of times it is that that are not getting enough hindmilk. If you are breast feeding and give both breast at each feeding, try only giving 1 breast but let her nurse until she stopped. It may be 30-45 min. or longer. My baby did not have colic but this is what I heard a lactation consultant telling her at teh bf clinic I went to. Good luck!

buy some semithicone drops (baby gas relief drops) give one little dropper full before every feeding and that will help break the gas bubbles down so she can burp or toot. and she won't have a belly ache which is what colic is you can also put a warm water bottle on her little belly. NOT A HEATING PAD! IT WILL BLISTER HER LITTLE BELLY!

This may sound dumb but is has worked for some people i know. It's a home remedy (more like grandma`s great secrets) and it is to take an egg and rub it clockwise on your baby's belly. I Hope it works for U

Good luck with your angel :)

Hang in there...it does get better! I remember walking and rocking my son to soothe him and feeling like a zombie from lack of sleep. I learned that the more stressed I allowed myself to become, the more colicky the baby became. I hope your baby soon feels better so you can feel the joy of watching your baby grow and thrive.

it really sucks but you have to be patient with your baby because nothing gets better with taking stress, you are here for suggestion so I would recommend "babies magic tea" of secretsoftea.com, I relied on it during the course of my DS's colic which lasted almost 3 months and believe me it helped more than I could imagine.

Maybe it's her formula that needs to be changed. Try sprite and water mixed 1 oz. of each and feed her 1/2 oz. then try to burp her and see if it helps at all.
