For some people, school is a waste, because they treat it like garbage. They have this fantastic access to people who care about them, who want to help them succeed in life, and so much knowledge! Yet, they sit in classrooms, unwilling to even absorb the most minute iota of information. School can be such a rewarding, fulfilling way to get an education, better your life, and enrich society. I am eternally grateful I have a wonderful education (from a public school) and that I got into college to further it. School is a fantastic opportunity, and it was not always there for all of us. Even if you hate going, at least try to learn something and make the best of it .

Sure it's a waste except for anyone that wants to get an education, a good job, make fantastic wages, live in a nice house, drive a cool car.

If you just wanna lay around popping out kids and not know who their daddy is and collect welfare and live in Section 8 housing.....school is definitely a waste!

Only if you dont use what you learn to make your life better. Learning is never a waste of time or effort. But sometimes people waste their time in school. They go to school for awhile but they dont ever see the use of learning so they give up before they know enough for it to be useful. I have rarely heard a college graduate complain that he wasted time in school but I have heard many dropouts complain about it.

I'd normally say no. But after having graduated from a university over two months ago and still not having a job, I'm beginning to wonder. The best thing to do is to invent something that everyone wants to buy and get rich. School doesn't usually tell you how to do that. Good luck.

It depends on your situation.

If your a street-smart person that works well with people, and have an alternative means of achieving career goals; and also you are not a book-smart person and have difficulty with schoolwork and tests, then perhaps school is not for you. However, you should at least go for your high school diploma. The law requires you to go to school until age 16 anyway, so at least hang on that extra two years.

Not at all.
You can write that sentence because of school.
You can read this reply because of school.
You meet many friends because of school.

When I was in school I wanted to get out as soon as possible, but now I wish I paid more attention. Free education is something I wish I didn't take for granted.

No it isn't. If you want to be stuck in jobs you hate with no opportunity for advancement, no benefits, and barely make more than minimum wage, then quit school. However, if you want a job you LIKE, that pays a bit more and offers benefits, then go to school.
