There are a few reasons. Primarily, the young wrestlers of today, came up in the business in a different way than 10 or more, years ago. Stars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Triple H, The Undertaker, and so on, all started out in the small territories and worked their way up into the big companies (WCW and WWE).

The stars of today that are just starting out or have been in the business for only a few years, haven't had the exposure to the business, as the aformentioned men, have had. They haven't gone through the necessary learning processes before hitting the big time. That's why you see the stars of yesterday, still on top and you have previous champions, like Kurt Angle and Triple H being recycled.

Every now and then, a younger super star gets a "push" to see how they do as champion but most fail. Than again, there are other factors as well, that contribute to wrestling being what it is, today. Definitely, the writing sucks; you have too much back stage politics going on; there's no serious competitors for the WWE, right now.

There's some thing else that I've noticed, as well. You see organizations like the UFC and Pride, starting to burst out now and becoming more mainstream. I think people in general, want more realism in their lives, opposed to fiction. They still want the excitement but they want to see some thing real.

I hope wrestling gets better and is around for ever. But only depends on whether or not the company is willing to adapt, like it has in the past. They need some competition. I think if TNA steps up its game in a big way, that WWE would have no other choice, than to get better. I also think, they need more key people backstage, grooming the super stars. Guys like Pat Paterson and Jim Ross are no longer involved much, with the WWE. At least Paterson isn't.

In my personal opinion, Vince McMahon has to be more open minded about what kind of wrestler, he chooses to employ. His basic criteria is: 6'5" tall and 250lbs +. Big guys draw attention but there's more to a good performer than their physique. Guys like Chris Benoit, Bret Hart, Eddie Guerro, all are and were, great technicians. Above all, they all were masters of telling stories in the ring. Wrestling needs more guys like that. Obviously, wrestling needs more big personalities like: The Rock and Stone Cold.

Hopefully the WWE gets better. As a wrestling fan, I'd hate to see wrestling disappear.

Well, back in my day we didnt have television! We had to stare at the sun til our eyes caught fire. Then wed run around and say'"oh no, maybe I shouldnt have stared at the sun so long. "

T.V is always better back when you were younger, I think it has to do with level of maturity and intelligence.

Thats why idiots like T.V. so much

Well you have to take in consideration the attitude era, and the invasion storyline. Plus i think WWE is going from where the fans were all geeky and gothic to all the "cooler" kids which will take time

McMahon is no longer fighting a ratings war with WCW, so he doesn't have to try anymore. It sucks.
