Yes, It is harmful to produce more food and prevent more starvation than at any time in history. Yes, it is harmful to have modern medicine available to more people every year so that more and more can live longer, happier lives. Need I go on?

It is like all things a double edge sword. On one edge you have the vast availability of knowledge at your figertips, communication has greatly improved.. the internet has allowed eveyone to have a voice. cell phones make people never "out of reach" but the other edge carries an on-slaught of spammers hackers and pornographers trying to sell you, hack you, or decieve you cold call you at anypoint in time and video games and the internet has allowed kids to make the choice to never see the light of day for more than 1-3 hours yet communicate with each other without ever getting on a bike or going outside enjoying the outdoor life. So completing the sword is the handle or hilt as some would call it. this is where personal choice and permmision comes in. How well do you train your tool?

Irony - A person who uses technology to question its use fullness.

Think of it this way. If you want to live without technology, then go ahead. I mean NO technology.......no clothes, no heat, no house. Not a single luxury.....like Robinson Caruso, as primitive as can be. (Sorry couldn't help myself)

Anyway, think about it this way. Sure, technology could/does cause harm, but just look what we get in return! If you do decide you could do without technology, let me know. I'd love to have your stuff.

For further reading on the Anti-tech movement (and how stupid they sound) check out Wendell Berry's book, "What is technology good for".

Definately!!! We are slowly becoming obsolete. I mean we have started to depend so much on technology that we have stopped making use of our own intellect. If we need an answer to a home work question we google the queston. We have also stopped having real conversations with people. Slowly we are drifting apart.

Without technology you wouldn't have the internet, a culmination of all the worlds knowledge at your fingertips. With all this information available so easily people learn, grow and are freed from the bonds of ignorance(sure it takes some longer than others).those who wish to learn can do so more easily than at any other time in human history.
That's gotta be good!

Depends on how technology is used. Without technology we would still be cavepeople running around naked and screaming "oonga boonga boonga oonga" and maybe a "doonga" in between.
