My job is called a "program assistant". Basically, I help little kids skate, and this provides a credit towards my skating. It is very small, like 5 dollars or something. If I wanted to, this is available every day and I just go. The good thing about this job is that you can be any age to do it (can be under 16). When you turn 16, you can become a coach of sorts. They teach little kids to skate. It is a one weekend course in the summer, and you can get the "license" to teach it. This pays A LOT better! Like 30 dollars an hour. Imagine if you do that every day! I know that you said you can't get a job at the rink, but you can do either of these jobs before you skate. So you won't be driving any more than you usually would. If you are worried about gas prices, you can consider taking public transit (bus, subway..). If you are really into skating, you will find a way! Trust me, these jobs are not very hard to get. It is a little more difficult before you turn 16, but in a year all the job options will open up for you! For right now, other things you can do would be: baby sitting, raking leaves, doing chores for your neighbours.. anything that you can think of! Good luck and I hope you figure something out!
