Great writing, pretty good story... and Robin Williams is excellent. I could do without Ben Affleck, but I gotta say Matt Damon did a good job.
In a way, it's motivating... it says, "Don't be afraid of rejection... give it a shot because you never know: things may work out better than you imagined."

Good Will Hunting is a good movie, has an interesting story that at times (because of the lives of the characters) can be harsh. The movie has a great ending though, it really is a good one for those who have been mistreated or abused.

In spite of what everyone tells me, this movie is probably my favorite of all time. I realize that the script, though an Oscar winner, is mostly formula, and most of the scenes between Robin Williams and Matt Damon are carbon copies of similar scenes between Judd Hirsch and Timothy Hutton in "Ordinary People". In spite of these flaws, the movie touches me in a way I can't describe. There is comedy that isn't over the top, the dramatic scenes are second to none, the performances by all are perfect, and finally the love story is beautiful and realistic. Every time I see this movie it seems to get better.

I'm a fan of Matt Damon & Ben Affleck and even Robin Williams, but I thought that movie was sooo boring! It's wierd because i usually really like thought-provoking movies or films that have "something to say", but i just thought it was incredibly trite!

A little of both. It is good in the fact that it is well written and exhibits excellent acting ability. It is boring if your life resembles the environment that it is portrayed in.

It is an excellent movie written by a very young Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. They won oscars for GWH. That is inspiration to young filmmakers........

I think it is better than average....and i usually dont watch mediocre movies.....it's all relative of course...what do you consider a good movie and what do you consider a bad movie?
a good movie for me is the Godfather, Scarface, Pulp Fiction.
Good will Hunting isn't that good, but it's better than most.
