Does he watch Family Guy, or do any of you? Maybe he sees Stewie Griffin talking this way and assumes that all babies should sound like this.
I've seen many young kids with all kinds of accents that fade with time. As they learn the words, it takes time for them to feel them out and get used to the "proper" way of saying them. It could be entirely coincidental that it happens to sound British.
Some more food for thought: the Southern accent obviously evolved from the British accent since the original colonies were settled by British immigrants. The accent didn't just change overnight and while both accents are very obviously different sounding, there are still many similarities and in its most basic form, certain words as he learns them could come across as British sounding.
Don't listen to anyone who talks about past lives, or you'd be hearing about many babies in this world speaking all kinds of different languages.

Watch the t.v. programs for babies and younger children - there are a lot of shows that have similar accents. If you let the baby watch noggin there are a lot of British accents and other accents that your child could be piecing together. It may be a northern accent that is mixing with the native southern accent. One of my mother's friends moved a lot when her children were younger. They lived in Virginia and Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Michigan... the result was a British accent. Strange but true.

Does your child watch General Hospital because there are British(Anna Devane & Holly Scorpio)/Austrailian(Robert Scorpio & Jasper "Jax" Jacks) and does your child watch Supernanny(Jo Frost is British) or Crocodile Hunter(Steve Irwin is Austrailian) they have English/Austrailian accents on those shows and some of the shows on Noggin not sure which ones (i dont let my kids watch brain rotting cartoons) but some have English/Austrailian accented people

Im canadian, along with the rest of my family (duh) and no one in my family has an accent-immediate or distant-and yet both my sisters had a strange accent when they were younger and learning to talk. Now both in their late teens their 'accents' disappeared (except for maybe a word or two).
no one could figure out why they had little accents, but I'm sure there's nothing wrong and they'll grow out of it. In the mean time enjoy it! accents are adorable

Your baby is still having a recurrence of a past life that's why! It is very normal for this to happen but most people just write it off as being something that the child just learned off of T.V. or something. Nope, its because he still has residue of a past life that's all. It will fade with time trust me.

Is his name Stewie? Just kidding. Kids are strange, and they like to experiment with what their body can do. Its probably something he heard somewhere, found interesting and decided to test out.
