The Mets are a shoe-in.

Over in the AL it could be Detroit or Chicago.

NL: It could be anyone. Everyone is going to say the Mets because of their record. They really need to make this deal with the White Sox and pick up Freddy Garcia. Glavine has looked very old in his last 5 starts. Pedro is on the DL after falling while changing his shirt. The only thing that is saving this team right now is that no one else in the East can win.
With that being said I think the Astros are going to turn things on just as they did last year. I love the acquisition of Huff. He has always, always been a stud in the second half of seasons. When they make the playoffs they will have the best starters in the NL. In a 7 game series other teams will be facing Oswalt, Clemens, Pett 6 of the 7 games. No other team has this much pitching. Astros in the NL (Lidge really needs to get his act together).

AL: A great offense can only take you so far. The White Sox have 3 of their 5 starters with a 4.90 or higher ERA. I'm not sure what to think about Buehrle. He will throw a gem one start, then his next he will give up 9 runs in 5 innings. I don't see them winning this year with their starters being so inconsistent.

I'm taking Red Sox and Tigers in AL Championship. Schilling and Beckett 2 proven playoff studs will be the deciding factor. Red Sox have the best D in the AL, the best clutch hitter and have a ton of experience. Also you have to think that the Bo Sox will make a move as they always do before the deadline (Soriano? I doubt it, but another starter would be nice). Red Sox in 6 to advance to World Series.
