http://www.genpets.com/index.php, I really had no idea where to put this so I called it an event. It is a bio-engineered pet that appears to have vital signs and a life span of one to two years. I have checked out a few sites about them, and they all say they are alive, but in a state of suspended animation before you purchase them.

You and me both, why would anyone create such a thing?

It’s easier to dismiss Genpets as a hoax or exaggeration when you’re not faced with a wall of them.

This is an artist doing a Performance Art demonstration. The Genpet isn't "real" at least not in the commercial sense. The Genpet, as well as the website, are part of a mixed media installation by artist Adam Brandejs.

The same artist claims to have made a shoe out of human flesh. Supposedly to illustrate the in-humanness of sweat shops that make the shoes. See link three below:

I just saw the creator of these things on TV this week. They are made of plastic/rubber, but extremely lifelike. They are not real. Just a gag, like the pet rock of the 70's.

What an inventive man. I wouldn't want his product in my home even if it isn't real, it's a bit creepy, but I don't watch steven king either.
