I live in Niagara Falls NY and cross the boarder often. Call your insurance company and tell them you are traveling to Canada they will normally add it to your insurance for free.
IF YOU HAVE KIDS have there birth certificates if you are divorced have a notarized letter from your ex. Normally the banks have a notary there free of charge.
Adults passport and driver licenses are needed doesn't hurt to have birth certificate too. Have a great trip!

Um check the oil, brake and transmission fluid? Lol. If you're talking mechanically wise and you're traveling far, have your mechanic take a quick look over it. If you're talking border wise.. *TIP* you will get through the border quicker with a cleaner and neater car . If it's messy they're going to want to search it more. I'm talking about the inside not the outside. So neaten up and clean inside your car before you cross.
