Tinkerbell is descibed as a common fairy who mends pots and kettles and, though sometimes ill-behaved and vindictive, at other times she is helpful and kind to Peter (for whom she apparently has romantic feelings). The extremes in her personality are explained by the fact that a fairy's size prevents her from holding more than one feeling at a time.

He isn't a fairy... he just acts like one. But seriously, he is actually just a boy who got flying and what not skills and he doesn't age... I can see as I write this why Michael Jackson is his #1 fan... Anyway, Tinkerbell was just his guode through Neverland when he first arrived and they became good friends so they stuck together...
