Can you name five things that Muslims have contributed to better modern civilization?

If you can name a source, please do so. All I can see so far is suicide bombs and tyranny.

I must have offended some Muslims. It would seem like they could come up with 5 things, though.

Okay, I am assuming you mean modern contributions by modern Muslims, excluding things like the importance of Medieval Islamic alchemy and mathematics to modern technology. Here you go:

1. The theory of fuzzy logic, which is used in AI programming among other things, was developed by Lofti Asker Zadeh.

2. The electroweak theory was developed with the assistance of Abdus Salam. He was awarded the 1979 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the theory.

3. Improved techniques in femtochemistry, which further our understanding of how chemical reactions occur and could contribute to the eventual creation of new molecules. This was done by Ahmed H. Zewail, who was awarded the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

4. Wipro, the world's largest independent R&D service provider, grew from modest beginnings under the leadership of businessman Azim Premji.

5. The artificial heart, which was developed by Toffy Musivand.

Name five things that YOU have contributed to better anything. A muslims goal is not to better modern civilization, but there were several great figures that were in fact Muslim. One led to the liberation of the oppressed people in South Africa, his name was Farid Esack. Malcom X was also a Muslim. The true Muslim belief is not one of hate or aggression. The origional Muslim and Islamic teachings were very similar to those in Christianity. Muslims believe that there is only one god and that is God himself, they believe that there is heaven and hell and you must answer for your actions when you die. Go to your public library and find something that talks about "The Five Pillars" It would take me forever to write it all. Just because some Muslims have lost sight of their teachings and acted on their own does not mean that all Muslims share this hate for Americans. Many persons of various religions take it to another level. If you have a email I will email you the reading material that will show you a different side of the Muslim life you have been exposed to. The old saying still rings true " You can not judge a book by its cover". That kind of judgement is why white people automatically lock their car door when they see a black man at a stop light, or why white women cluth their purses tighter when they pass a black person on the street. Do you mean the actual Islam religion? Then just like other major religions it has expanded philosophical thought and bettered mankind by giving people hope.

However, if you are asking what Muslim People have contributed to mankind? I would answer by saying they contribute the exact same things as the Jewish or Christian people do. They go to work everyday, have families, throw rocking parties, and get along pretty well.

In reference to the bombers. They are fanatical zealots. Suicide bombers are to Islam as the KKK are to Christianity. Surely you wouldn't judge an entire culture based on the actions of a small radical group.

Is not about how much, or what a culture is contributing. What matters is that the majority is trying to make the world a better more peaceful place. Islam, and most other religions do that.

You are truly a racist. Check up on history please. First of all, both Muslims and Christians believe in the same GOD. Muslims differ only that they believe Jesus was a prophet, and Christians believe he is the Son of God. We have Muslims here who are kind-loving people, just as much as we have KKK members who are Christians.
