help!! i need to know how to code for SMS?

i am doing an assingnment using .net vb script, how to code a prog where we can send messages to handphones from the application?? for eg., a company wants to send sms alerts to it's clients about some sort of promotion.

for this, you will need an sms gateway (application). we have one in school using nokia sms gateway. you will need to learn the configuration and how to make the gateway work for your program. also sending sms will require you a gsm modem because there is no way you can send sms without a sim card and a phoneline. my school provides us one. check if you can loan the equipment from your school as it is very expensive hardware..

i graduated and majored in mobile applications development and we do this stuff alot. you must interface your program with the sms gateway software. all this syncing depends on which sms gateway application you use. open source (free) sms gateway softwares are readily available for download so you can use them. just make sure you read the user guide and manual thoroughly before commencing...

for your hardware problem i cant help you. but i tell you first that it is impossible to send sms without a gsm modem. i know there are some software which allows you to use your handphone (connected to your pc) to use it as the gsm modem but i believe it is proprietary and u need to purchase it. my friend was interned in nokia and he told me they use this method
