Regular old brown in color, alberta ants.Taking over areas of yard.They swarm your feet if you stand close for too long.Any ideas??

5 drops of bleach right into the hole of the mound

Dust the ant infested area with Arm&Hammer Baking Soda. The ants eventually disappear because baking soda is poisonous to them.

In the UK at least, you can get special powder for killing Ants.... try any old Garden Centre / Hardware store.

Alternatively, I think you can also kill the buggers by pouring boiling hot water from a kettle down the hole(s).

Well, I've tried everything and here in FL they are all over so I am moving to NC next month...don't think they have any red ants up there :)

Cayenne pepper. It burns them. They hate it.
