Depends on your definition. Say that immortality means never ending life but you still age at some point you will decay so much that your body will become dust, what then become a ghost or stay as a pile forever. If you add eternal youth to the structure of immortality you give the chance to look the same rest of existence, but with that people will recognize and scrutinize you for the fact that you are around 5000 and they are dying at age 100. also loneliness will set in all your loves will die you will have to go through the torment over and over again even if you are able to make someone immortal how can you make sure they are able to live with for eternity. if you had the magical insight to find the one and the ability to turn her / him immortal, or if you were turned by that someone, maybe life will be at the very least livable. So, immortality alone is not enough if the rest I have explained are included are there I would say yes.

I've thought about this a lot, being a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer... some of whose characters have the feature of immortality. I think my answer would be no. Just because you are in mortal doesn't mean nobody would deteriorate or you couldn't get into an accident, it was just mean that you couldn't die, and life could be pretty painful if your body doesn't work right! It is also stuff about missing my mom, who would not be immortal. And how about denial of heaven? Or making God mad. You wouldn't know if it did until you tried it, and then you would be too late. No immortality's not for me. Watching all your friends die.

No! There are somethings that will happen in the future that I could live without seeing. I don't want to be around to see the people I love suffer. I think I would rather have a fresh new body anyway. I think this one is getting old. I have abused it so much and some days it hurts like hell! That's just a few reason's why I wouldn't! Don't have any reason why I would.

I dont think so. Here's why. A short story. An alien was touring the universe looking for the elixir of life. One day sitting in bar a human comes over and joins him, introduces himself and asks what the alien is doing in the bar. The alien explains that he has found wonderous things in the universe and that he has many many wonderful menories as a result of his travels. But he cannot find the elixir of life and he is wondering if it just worth going on. He cannot face life so short. The human tells him he knows what he means and says that with only about 40 years (earth) to go he would never be able to travel so far as the alien and wonders at his technology. "How long have you been searchin",g he asks the alien. The alien replies, "47,000 earth years and half my life is gone".

When I was a kid I read this comic about a great sword fighter in the middle ages. He was so great and so in love with his own greatness that he boasted that he could defeat Death in a duel. Death decides to take him up on his challenge and death loses. Death then tells the man "You have beaten me and now you shall live forever" The man was full of joy...for the first few centuries and then he slowly begins to want to move on but he can't. Be careful what you wish for.

if I would remain young with that immortality then I'll take it. I don't want to be immortal yet old.

If I could also have eternal youth and health, I might. But it would still be hard to see my friends and family grow old and die as I remained the same. When my great-great grandfather turned 90, my father asked him how it felt to be 90. He said the worst thing about it was having to visit your friends in the cemetary.

If you stopped aging at or around 30, then yes. I would live as long as it took The Lord to come back to earth. It would be very interesting to see how the earth will change in the years to come.

What would be the point? Your actions would have no consequences and life wouldn't be as meaningful if you didn't have to cherish your time. It would be depressing to watch people die that you knew and you would be forced to be an outcast of society.

Why would anyone want to live in this absurd world forever?
